Why you should have your test at Quality Vascular Imaging!

We specialize in vascular testing. It is all we do. Ultrasound is arguably the most difficult of today's vast array of imaging technologies and it is highly operator dependent. Our staff is the most qualified to perform your vascular testing. If the sonographer does not thoroughly understand ultrasound physics, the disease process, and the reason(s) you are sent for testing, they will be unlikely to supply your physician with the information they need to effectively treat you.

Accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) demonstrates a commitment to quality care. The purpose of the ICAVL is to provide a mechanism for accreditation of facilities which perform comprehensive testing for vascular disease with noninvasive testing modalities. Through the accreditation process, laboratories assess every aspect of daily operation and its impact on the quality of health care provided to patients. Why is this important??  Currently, there is no licensure required for performing ultrasound in any state.  Sadly, it is estimated that the majority of persons performing ultrasound today have not even demonstrated minimum entry level competence.  You should demand that anyone performing your testing is credentialed in not just ultrasound but specifically in vascular testing. This person is called a Registered Vascular Technologist ("RVT").  All our technologists are RVT's, registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the most respected organization providing a certification for ultrasound professionals. http://www.ardms.org  QVI staff are regularly invited to lecture on a national and international basis on a wide variety of clinical, technical, and professional issues.  QVI staff have a large number of publications in peer reviewed professional journals to our credit.  All are members and most are very active in the Society for Vascular Ultrasound ("SVU") http://www.svunet.org , a national organization dedicated to the advancement of noninvasive vascular testing and improving patient care.
