QVI Staff QVI easily has the most experienced staff on the Florida West Coast. We specialize in vascular testing, and it is all we do. This makes us the clear experts in all areas of vascular disease and vascular testing. Our staff average nearly 20 years experience in ultrasound testing. Why is this important?? Currently, there is no licensure required for performing ultrasound in any state. Sadly, it is estimated that the majority of persons performing ultrasound today have not even demonstrated minimum entry level competence. You should demand that anyone performing your testing is credentialed in not just ultrasound but specifically in vascular testing. This person is called a Registered Vascular Technologist ("RVT"). All our technologists are RVT's, registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, the most respected organization providing a certification for ultrasound professionals. http://www.ardms.org QVI staff are regularly invited to lecture on a national and international basis on a wide variety of clinical, technical, and professional issues. QVI staff have a large number of publications in peer reviewed professional journals to our credit. All are members and most are very active in the Society for Vascular Ultrasound ("SVU") http://www.svunet.org , a national organization dedicated to the advancement of noninvasive vascular testing and improving patient care.
Kathleen McCloskey, RT, RDMS, RVT Kathleen completed specialized training in radiology technology and in addition has extensive experience in various radiological special procedures. Early on in her training however, she was drawn to Ultrasound and in fact, has three different ultrasound registries. Vascular testing emerged as her favorite and has been her primary focus for over a decade. She is extremely talented and knowledgeable in the abdominal vasculature, especially renal artery evaluation.
Gwendolyn Harmison, BS, RVT Gwen graduated from Penn State University with a Baccalaureate Degree, and subsequently trained at the Hershey Medical Center Vascular Laboratory, a world renowned facility known for their pioneering work in the field. Gwen brings enthusiasm coupled with knowledge and exquisite training to her vascular testing. Gwen primarily works in our Sun City office but you may be fortunate enough to find her in any of our offices.
Dana Curry, BS,RVT Dana graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon in 2008 after spending an 11 month externship here at QVI. OIT is recognized as one of the premier schools in the country for vascular testing. The Florida lifestyle agreed with Dana so much she decided to stay with us following graduation as a full time technologist and we are glad she did. Dana is well liked by her patients for her friendly nature and professional skills.
Albert Klaric Al is the QVI office manager and brings extensive knowledge and experience in medical office management to our facility. In addition to maintenance of the unenviable task of schedule of all the staff at varied locations, Al is an expert at insurance billing. If you have any questions about insurance and is always ready to answer questions and help you with the intricacies of your insurance policy.
Danielle Powell If you are fortunate, Danielle is the person you will most likely speak to when contacting our office. She does most of our scheduling as well as a myriad of other tasks. She is currently enrolled at Sanford Brown in Tampa in a certified medical assistant program so don't be surprised if she is in the room taking blood pressures or helping with patient care tasks. Always friendly and helpful, Danielle adds a delightful presence to the office.
Jean White, RVT Jean served on the SVU Board of Directors, chaired numerous national committees, and is past-president of the local SVU chapter, the Suncoast Society of Vascular Technology. She also served on the Vascular Disease Foundation Board of Directors, a non-profit organization committed to increasing public awareness of vascular disease. (See www.vdf.org) She has been an invited speaker at numerous local and national meetings and is a recognized leader in the evaluation of persons with venous disease.
William B. Schroedter, BS, RVT, FSVU Bill first picked up an ultrasound transducer in August 1978 and was hooked ever since. Bill spent 7 years on the Society of Vascular Ultrasound Board of Directors and served as SVU Vice President. He was honored as a Fellow of SVU in 1998. With numerous scientific and clinical publications, Bill has a special interest in arterial evaluation and has been an invited lecturer both nationally and internationally. More recently, he has become interested the professional and governmental issues surrounding vascular technology. He is current chair of the SVU Government Relations Committee, and has testified at the Florida State Legislature on the profession of Vascular Technology and as an advocate for quality patient care.
Quality Vascular Imaging has affiliate agreements with several schools providing formal education in vascular testing including Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, Oregon, NOVA Southeastern in Ft Lauderdale, Fl, and South Hills in Pennsylvania. So don't be surprised if there is an "extra" person in the room talking "shop!"
